World premiere of Oscar van Dillen’s ‘12 Eludes’ at the Day of the Composer 2024
Last June, I was pleased to contribute to the Day of the Composer with a solo piano performance of the world premiere of Dutch composer Oscar van Dillen’s ‘12 Eludes’. This festive day is an initiative of New Music Now.
Van Dillen’s ‘12 Eludes’ is a work with a deep, long arc of tension that takes the audience on a journey full of variation in metrical structures and rhythmic ‘vibes’. The piece invites listeners to seek intimacy and fully immerse themselves in this musical experience. The premiere felt like a shared adventure in the unique soundscape Van Dillen has created. Very nice to perform this premiere in the heart of Rotterdam. The concert is recorded by TV Oude Westen Rotterdam
At a subsequent concert of the Eludes in Rotterdam, we had the honour of welcoming composer Klaas de Vries to our audience.
