Ellyne Wieringa is a young pianist from the Netherlands, active at home and abroad as a soloist and chamber musician. She can be heard regularly in concert halls, festivals and more intimate occasions. She played several times in the large hall of De Doelen in Rotterdam. She has performed solo and in chamber music with various orchestras and choirs: including concerts with Shostakovich’s first piano concerto with the Nijmeegs Strijkersgilde and conductor Stef Collignon, Le Carnaval des Animeaux by Saint Saëns with Codarts Symphony Orchestra and conductor Arie van Beek, and concerts in various concert halls in the Netherlands with the important choral repertoire of Brahms with the Rotterdam Symphony Choir and conductor Wiecher Mandemaker. She was also heard live on Radio 4, including a live broadcast from the Spiegelzaal in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
In 2019 Ellyne obtained her Master of Music at the Prince Claus Conservatoire in Groningen. There she studied with Paul Komen and Nata Tsvereli. She followed the bachelor and young talent preparatory training at Codarts, the conservatory of Rotterdam and graduated with pianist Bart van de Roer. She is a prize winner at various youth competitions such as the Princess Christina Competition and the Peter de Grote Festival. In recent years Ellyne has received many masterclasses from leading concert pianists, such as Pascal Devoyon, Igor Roma, Joseph Moog and Marianna Shirinyan. With the help of a grant from the Willem Mengelberg Fund (affiliated with the Concertgebouw Amsterdam), Ellyne was able to participate in the European Music Institute Vienna in the summer of 2019, where she followed masterclasses with the British pianist Martin Hughes, especially for the study of the Schubert -repertoire.
Ellyne is mainly active as a chamber musician in various ensembles. During her early career, Ellyne performed with Pianoduo Elan, with whom she was a finalist in the chamber music competition De Grote Kamermuziekprijs in 2015. By being associated with the Pianoduo Festival Academy for three years, she has immersed herself in the arts of piano duo playing. Elan was coached by the internationally renowned piano duos Scholtes-Janssens and Silver-Garburg. Ellyne has also strengthened her in the piano trio playing by participating with Trio Sphera in the prestigious International Chamber Music Campus of Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland.
Ellyne recently released her debut animation video in collaboration with animator and director Udo Prinsen. The film came about from her initiative Muziek Fantastiek; a project dedicated to creating animation videos set to classical music with children’s drawings.
Ellyne has recently become a teacher at Codarts, the Rotterdam Conservatory. She gives piano and chamber music lessons to the young talents of the integrated high school: Havo and VWO for Music and Dance.
