Ellyne Wieringa is a young pianist, teacher and chamber musician from the Netherlands. Her playing has been praised for its sensitivity, warmth and color. As a pianist, Ellyne gives particular attention to underexposed Dutch composers and their works. She also likes to respond to new creative ideas, including by entering into interdisciplinary collaborations. As a soloist and chamber musician, Ellyne has received several recognitions and grants and plays concerts in larger and smaller venues. Stichting Eigen Muziekinstrument supported Ellyne through a large contribution to purchase a Steinway & Sons concert grand piano.

Ellyne studied in the Netherlands at the conservatories of Rotterdam (Codarts) and Groningen (Prince Claus Conservatory) with Bart van de Roer and Paul Komen, among others. In chamber music, Ellyne has participated in various training programs.  For a period of three years, Ellyne attended the Pianoduo Academy in Amsterdam with the Pianoduo Scholtes-Janssens. In the ensemble form piano trio, she participated in the prestigious chamber music master class Jeunesses Musicales in Weikersheim, Germany.

In recent years, Ellyne has played extensively in various venues and festivals at home and abroad. She has worked as a soloist with conductors Wiecher Mandemaker, Arie van Beek, Stef Collignon and the Rotterdam Symphony Chorus, Codarts Symphony Orchestra and the Nijmegen Strings Guild. With the latter orchestra, she has soloed Shostakovich’s first piano concerto.

Ellyne provides programming for the series of chamber music concerts at the Rietveld Theater in Delft. She enjoys putting together a varied series where she gives talented young professionals a stage. As a teacher Ellyne is connected to Codarts, the conservatory of Rotterdam, and the Codarts Lyceum. At the Codarts Lyceum, Ellyne teaches piano and chamber music to the young talent piano class.
